Time Trials

Time trialling is the simplest of competitive formats: a race against the clock. With riders starting a minute apart, it's known as the 'race of truth' because there's nowhere to hide, no one to draft behind; just you, the bike and the thumping of your heart. Oh, and a clock ticking...

Sunday Club Rides – 30th April

Sunday Club Ride

9am from the Pink Pub. The standard BRCC Sunday format and route to Stansted with a stop at Tangmere to meet anyone joining us there. Thanks to Val Worthington for picking up on the lead for this week. If the group is sufficient there may be the opportunity for this group to split at Lavant and for some to take a more challenging route to Stansted. The decision on this will be made on the day. But this is a social, hopefully fun ride, please don't think you are not fit, too slow etc ALL are welcome, So don't be shy. Club ride format will be observed, so no-one left behind, mechanical assistance given if required and a relaxed/steady Sunday morning pace.

Although assistance will be given with any mechanical issues, please bring a basic repair kit with you including a spare tube, pump and tyre levers. If you're not sure, have a chat with any of the regular members while you're out with us to see what they would recommend you include.

Sunday Training Ride

As several the regular Sunday training ride group will be taking part in the Isle of Wight Randonee there will not be a ride form the Pink Pub at 8.am.

Sunday 'Sportive' Ride
Mark Haplik will be in with the group riding to the Isle of Wight. This is one of events that the Sunday Sportive rides have all been about, so here’s hoping you all benefit from the practice.

Whether it’s the 9am club ride or one of the other events taking place this weekend here’s hoping for good weather, may the wind always be behind you and the puncture fairies be on holiday. Have a great weekend and be safe.

Established in 1936

The club has a long and rich history in the local area. We cater for all standards of cycling, from beginner to veteran.

Whether you just want to get more from your cycling in a safe and friendly environment. Explore some of the wonderful local countryside with other likeminded people who will look out for each other and encourage you to do more whilst keeping a realistic pace and achievable goals.

Perhaps you want to develop more advanced cycling activities such as longer sportives riding or to enter the competitive Time Trial and Road Racing scene.

Whatever your ability is now and whatever your aim is for the future, if it's cycling related, then BRCC will always offer a warm welcome and try to help you to achieve what you want in a friendly and supportive way. Of course, cake and coffee during that journey is optional!

See our 'Club Rides' page for more details on our weekly organised rides.

Club Sponsored Charity for 2017

Bognor Regis Cycling Club, Is raising money throughout 2017 for Pancreatic Cancer UK because it's a great cause that needs our support. Last year, our club's president Dave Prior, a much loved family man and a great friend to all who knew him especially in the world of cycling, passed away after a diagnosis of pancreatic cancer. He had dedicated his life to his family and working tirelessly for many local and national charities.

As a club we have decided to take this year to raise as much money as we can to towards this cause in his honour.

Just Giving Link

We have set up a JustGiving page ( https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/brcc2017 ) so that donations can be made in a simple and easy way. But please give generously to the tea and coffee funds at all our events through the season.

The Charirity's web site is at: www.pancreaticcancer.org.uk

turbo night

Thursday Night is Turbo Night!

Thursday Evening Turbo Torture Returns!! Yes, its that time of the year again when the nights draw in, the shorts turn to tights and Christmas starts to loom.

Now you can safely let the hairs grow back on your legs, stop apologising for how dirty your bike is because it will now always be dirty and that nagging summer cold that prevented a PB will quite legitimately become winter flu.

So, put all your ailments aside, dust off the turbo, roll out the sweat mat and trip on down to Eastergate Hall.

The usual format - gates open at 6.30, all in and ready to start by 7.00, wind down and finish by 8.00.

This hour of fun is offered free to any member of BRCC and charged at only £2.50 for non-members
